Workshop for women experiencing loneliness and isolation in US culture 



‧Are your cultural, family and collectivist values disrespected or ignored? 
Do you struggle with wanting acceptance and approval from American society? 
‧Do you feel unnoticed, unseen or invisible?


Come share your cultural upbringing and values with other people who may think like you. This workshop will create a safe and confidential environment for your feelings and needs, you and your culture will be seen and validated for who you really are. We will use theater exercises and creative arts to enhance your self-esteem, awaken your resiliency, and honor your cultural values and your true self. Come find support, strength, companionship, and connection with mind-liked women.



Date and Time: November 10th Sunday 9-5 pm
Fee: $50/one day workshop

*No theater experience necessary.

 BIDENTITY 

A FREE Drama Therapy Workshop


Are you struggling with the stress of biphobia? 

Is having to hide the “real you” causing feelings of anxiety, depression, or shame? 

Do you feel like you have to fight to feel “queer enough in your own community? 









Join us for an afternoon of identity exploration, sharing and support. Whether you’re a loud and proud Bi/Pan activist, thinking about coming out, or questioning this workshop is for you. 

Led by a team of skilled (bi/pan identified) therapists, you will learn role-playing, improv and acting activities in a supportive, confidential environment.   



This workshop is open to ALL people who self-identify as bisexual or pansexual.   


*Advanced Registration Required.  *No previous theater experience necessary. 


This free workshop is facilitated by Marriage and Family Therapy trainees Michelle Chang, Alicia Stephen, and Kitzie Winship. Michelle, Alicia, and Kitzie are supervised by Armand Volkas, MFT, RDT/BCT, MFC# 28789.

Drama Therapy is an experiential approach of psychotherapy. It integrates improvisation, creative arts, theater games and techniques, and psychodrama as tools to achieve therapeutic goals and growth towards well-being. This workshop is based on Renée Emunah’s Five Phases Model, it will start from interactive theater games and gradually move into role-play and psychodramatic scene.

In this workshop, you will...

—Connect with your creativity and imagination;

—Practice new roles and view from new perspectives; 

—Share your stories; 

—Learn about Drama Therapy;

Break Up Experiential Support Group

六周的分手後支持團體



Are you heart-broken? 

Are you looking for closure? 

Do you find yourself still lingering in the past?

If it has been a while since your last relationship, but you can’t seem to get over it,
this six session group is for you.

This group offers you a safe space where you can process your emotions, reexamine your relationship dynamics, and be supported. Through experiential techniques based on drama therapy you will explore how to let go of past relationships, learn from them, and create new and better ways of relating with yourself and others. 


*Shy people are welcome

*Workshop will be held in English

Facilitators:

Michelle Chang is an MFT trainee supervised by Armand Volkas, RDT, MFT (MFC#28789) at Living Arts Counseling Center. She works with individuals, couples, and families. She majors in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Drama Therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies and received her undergraduate degree in Psychology. She respects each client’s uniqueness and differences, and she supports clients by providing a nurturing environment that facilitates their growth.

Alethia Olmedo-Perlasca is an MFT Trainee at the Living Arts Counseling Center. She is studying for a Master’s in Counseling Psychology with emphasis in Drama Therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She is a certified psychotherapist in Mexico City by the Centro Ericksoniano de Mexico. She has certifications in Existential Psychology and Human Development by the Universidad Iberoamericana Mexico, in Emotional Intelligence by the Claustro de Sor Juana University, and in Education Management by FORMO international. She is a certified coach by Coaching Ontológico de México. She is supervised by Armand Volkas MFT (MFC#28789).

Living Arts Counseling Center 即將舉辦一月一次的創造性藝術治療體驗工作坊,六月份由我和Alethia一起負責。工作坊會用英文進行,只要基本聽說可以就能夠參加,不懂的地方也可以隨時詢問,可以當場翻成中文,希望有興趣的朋友不要害羞,歡迎報名參加。


Drama therapy is an experiential form of psychotherapy that utilizes improvisation, theatre games and techniques, and psychodrama as tools for personal growth and change.  It is playful, yet sparks insight.  It promotes spontaneity, creativity, emotional expression, autonomy, and cognitive and behavioral change.  

This workshop will introduce participants to this powerful means for changing self-defeating patterns and practicing new roles and constructive behaviors.  

No previous theater experience is necessary.  Shy people are especially welcome!
